Shakib made headlines recently after popular film actress Apu Biswas revealed to the media that they are married for nine years and have a son together.

The actor has been suffering from liver related complications, the source said adding that he was rushed to the same hospital last night for several hours.

He fell sick following the last few days’ irregularities and mental stress centring the marital status and parenthood issues with his wife and actress Apu Biswas, the relatives said.

Information of his marriage and having a son with the actress was made public by Apu herself which the couple kept as a secret ever since their marriage in 2008.

In a surprising turn of events, Apu Biswas along with her infant son went live on a TV programme on Monday afternoon. The heart-felt and tragic tell-all interview captivated millions and gripped the attention of the media throughout the country. The event occurred after a two-year self imposed exile during which Apu mysteriously disappeared from the limelight.

The talk show featured the once highly sought actress Apu Biswas revealing that her son was fathered by film superstar Shakib Khan. The claim was later confirmed by the father in question himself, who stated, “He is my son, but I will not take any responsibility for Apu.”

A day after Shakib refused to take responsibility for his wife, which sparked criticism nationwide, the highest-paid actor of Bangladeshi movies and Apu have apparently reconciled on Tuesday.

However, the actor has had a change of heart and in a statement given yesterday said: “It had come as an angry surprise to me when Apu appeared on television with my son in that manner. However, I have made a decision; I would like for all of us to live as a family. This choice has been made deliberately on my own part, and I am not afraid of the consequences it will have on my career. My fans have been loyal throughout these years, and I have faith that they will stand by me now.”

The issue of Apu and Shakib tying the knot had been under media speculation for the last two years, along with the grapevine news that the actress had been in India for some time to deliver her son. These claims were later cemented as fact by Apu Biswas in the momentous interview.
