‘Dangal’ collects Rs 239.01cr in 9 days
Aamir Khan-starrer wrestling drama film “Dangal” collected Rs 239.01 crore (TK. 278,97,43,441) till today, reports the Indian Express.
Thought “Dangal” is lagging behind Salman Khan’s “Sultan”, Amir Khan’s film earned Rs 29.78 crore on its opening day. “Sultan” had grossed Rs 36.54 crore on the first day on July 6.
“Sultan” had reportedly collected Rs 180 crore in the first weekend, and its total collection stands at Rs 584.25 crore worldwide.
“Dangal” is also doing overwhelming business in overseas market. The film has collected Rs 131.02 cr so far.
No wonder Aamir Khan’s film continues to rule the box office even after completing first week at the theaters. Going by the trends, it seems the wave will not die anytime until Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees hits the theatres next month.
Dangal tells the real-life story of Mahavir Singh Phogat who trained his daughters to become world-class wrestlers.
