Chhayanaut's musical offerings to Monsoon
Chhayanut held a musical programme of monsoon melodies at its main auditorium on July 28. The artistes of the organisation set off the event with a choral rendition of Tagore song “Rimjhim Ghono Ghono Rey” along with a dance presentation.
Laisa Ahmed Lisa, general secretary of Chhayanaut delivered the welcome address. The programme featured performance of solo and choral songs with dance and recitation based on the musical pieces composed by Tagore, Nazrul, DL Roy and Atul Prasad.
Artistes of Chhayanaut presented several group dances set on the songs “Rim Jhim Rim Jhim Jhim”, “Shrabon Jhulatey Badol Raat-e” and “Neel Anjan Ghono Punjo Chhayaye” while Chhayanaut teachers Sharmila Banerjee and Sudeshna Swayamprabha presented a duet dance based on Kazi Nazrul Islam songs “Megher Hindola Deye Poob-hawatey Dola” and “Rum Jhum Jhum Badol Nupur”.
Among singers, Satyam Kumar Debnath and Senjuti Barua sang solo Tagore songs while Nasima Shaheen Fancy, Bizon Chandra Mistry, Afsana Runa, Rezaul Karim, Shrabanti Dhar, Nahiyan Doordana Shuchi, Sushmita Debnath Suchi, Farhana Aktar Shyarli and Khairul Anam Shakil offered diverse monsoonal melodies composed by Kazi Nazrul Islam and Atul Prasad.
Suman Majumder, a Chhayanaut Guru, presented a DL Roy song “Borsha Ailo Oi”. Nasima Khan Majlish and Jahirul Haque Khan recited poems at the event.
