“Golmaal Again” zooms past 100cr in five days
Rohit Shetty's “Golmaal Again”, which released alongside Aamir Khan's “Secret Superstar”, is breaking records at the box office. The film starring Ajay Devgn and Parineeti Chopra in the lead has garnered more than Rs 116 crore in first five days of its release, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the film's business.
It has also become Ajay Devgn's highest opener in Australia.
In a conversation with IANS, director Rohit Shetty said, “I am overjoyed that 'Golmaal Again' has broken records along with spreading happiness, cheer and smiles during this Diwali. I am thankful to the audience for the success and the love they have shown to the Golmaal series.”
The movie, also starring series regulars Tusshar Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Kunal Khemu, Shreyas Talpade along with a strong ensemble cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and Johnny Lever, released on October 20, a day after Diwali. It is the fourth film in the screwball comedy franchise that has been a huge hit with the audience since its first installment in 2006.
