AL unveils documentation on BNP-Jamaat violence
Awami League today unveiled a documentation on violence that carried out by the BNP-Jamaat during the Awami League-government 2009-2013 rule and ahead of the January 5 election across the country.
The DVD titled “Blood, Pain, Bangladesh: A saga of BNP-Jamaat violence against the people of the country” was unveiled by AL General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam at the Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka today.
“The violence committed by Jamaat is a copy of what they did during 1971,” Ashraf said at the launching,
The video will help motivate and mobilise the people to stand up against extremism, he added.
The DVD is said to document the violence that was spread across the country by BNP-Jamaat prior to the last elections and during the tenure of the last AL-government including attacks on Hindu minorities.
“During the Liberation War, people were either for it or against it,” Ashraf said adding that no one – from journalists and editors to lawyers – is impartial in the fight against terrorism.
“Those who claim neutrality are actually trying to hide their position,” Ashraf said.
