'AL men' torch factory, vandalise houses for voting in Ctg
Alleged activists of ruling Awami League torched a factory of a Jamaat leader and vandalised three houses of BNP supporters for voting in the third phase of upazila parishad elections in Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong this morning.
The house of a Hindu family also gutted to ashes when the fire spread to another adjacent house, reports our Chittagong Correspondent.
A group of armed AL activists attacked the houses of BNP men at Chowdhurypara around 10:00am as the owners of the houses cast their votes in favour of their party, sources said.
Later, the group of attackers also torched a candle factory of Omar Faruk, a rokon (full-member) member of Jamaat-e-Islami, key alley of BNP-led 19-party alliance.
