ACC launches probe against Hawlader
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched a probe into the allegation of illegal wealth accumulation by Jatiya Party Secretary General ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader.
The commission at its regular meeting today decided to conduct the probe into graft allegation against the Jatiya Party leader, ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told the news agency.
According to a graft allegation received by the ACC recently, Hawlader’s business firm -- KR Fashion -- has a large quantity of land at Kuakata in Patuakhali.
But, the land was not mentioned in the affidavit he submitted to the Election Commission before the 10th parliamentary polls held on January 5.
Apart from the KR Fashion, Hawlader allegedly grabbed government lands in the Kuakata sea beach area.
