9 human traffickers arrested, 18 rescued
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today arrested nine alleged human traffickers and rescued 18 people, who were waiting to be moved to Middle East countries.
Tipped-off, a team of Rab raided different areas in Farmgate and Kawran Bazar in Dhaka and arrested the alleged traffickers along with nine passports with fake visas of Iraq and other countries in Middle East, said Lt Col KM Azad, commanding officer of Rab-2.
They also rescued the 18 victims during the drive, the Rab official said.
A press briefing will be held at Rab-2 office in Agargaon of the capital in the afternoon.
