9 Hindu idols desecrated in Netrakona

Miscreants attacked two temples and desecrated at least nine idols in Netrakona Sadar upazila in the wee hours of today.

Five idols were damaged at Satpai Ekotha Sangha Kali Mandir while four at Shashanghat Kali Mandir, reports our correspondent quoting Kawser Ahmed, officer-in-charge (OC) of Netrakona Sadar Police Station.

Unknown criminals entered the temples by breaking open its doors anytime after 12:30am, the OC said.

On information, Jakir Hossain, superintendent of police of Netrakona, visited both the temples and told media that police were looking into the matter.
