8.4kg gold seized, 1 held at Shahjalal airport

Customs Intelligence officials seized 72 gold bars weighing around 8.4 kilogrammes and detained a person at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka this morning.
The arrestee Mohammad Azim Uddin, 25, son of Chenu Miah of Feni, came from Dubai by a flight No. FZ583 that landed at the airport around 10:30am, Moinul Khan, customs intelligence director general, told The Daily Star.
The officials recovered the gold bars when Azim was passing through the green channel of the airport, he said.
The market price of the seized gold bar is estimated around Tk 4.20 crore, Moinul said.
