6 bodies found in Gazipur
Police have recovered six bodies from different places in Gazipur.
Police said five of them were murder victims while the other was crushed under the wheels of a running train, reports our Gazipur correspondent.
The law enforcers recovered the slit-throat body of Mehedi Hasan Sayem, 11, a school student from Barmi bus stand area at Sreepur upazila around 12:00pm, said Farid Hossain, a sub-inspector at Sreepur Police Station.
Rafiqul Islam, Mehedi's father, alleged that his son was murdered by his anti-group following previous enmity, the police official added.
Mehedi went missing around 7:00pm yesterday from his house, he said.
Meanwhile, a housewife, Maksuda Akter, 20, was beaten to death allegedly by her husband Khorshed Alam, a narcotic supplier in Kodma village in the same upazila, confirmed Abdul Malek, a sub-inspector of the same police station.
Khorshed allegedly killed his wife around 1:00am today, the SI added.
In another drive, Sreepur police recovered an unidentified body of a woman from the deep forest of Patultia village around 7:00pm yesterday, said Amir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sreepur Police Station.
Locals found the body deep in the forest and informed the police.
Joydebpur police recovered the body of a 60-year-old woman around 11:00am today. She was identified as Alimunnessa, wife of Fazir Uddin of the Gazipur City Corporation area, confirmed SM Kamruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Joydebpur Police Station.
She went missing last night, the OC added.
Meanwhile, Kaliakoir police this afternoon recovered the body of Khaleda Akter, 30, wife of Makbul Hossain, at Dinekani village in the upazila, police said.
Mokbul went missing since his wife's death, police added.
A youth named Badhon Chandra Sarker, was crushed under the wheels of a running train at Salna upazila in Gazipur around 8:00am today, police said.
Badhon hailed from Fulpur upazila of Mymensingh.
Police sent the bodies to Gazipur Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
