50,000 Yaba tablets seized in Teknaf
Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized around 50,000 Yaba tablets from the bank of Naf River in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar early today.
BGB conducted a drive on the river bank in the upazila headquarter around 5:00am after receiving information that a group of smugglers was smuggling Yaba tablets into the country from Myanmar by a small boat.
The team recovered the pills in an abandoned condition as the smugglers fled the scene leaving the tablets on the boat, Commanding Officer of BGB 42 battalion Abu Jar Al Jahid told The Daily Star.
The price of the tablets is estimated to be Tk 1.5 crore, the BGB official said.
