48pc cabinet decisions not implemented: Report
Around 48.77 percent of the cabinet decisions remain unimplemented during the three-month tenure of the Awami-League-led government due to manpower crisis, according to a government report.
The report said the government has executed only 51.23 percent till March 31, which is the lowest implementation rate in the last five years.
After the quarterly report was placed at the cabinet meeting today, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her dissatisfaction over the implementation rate.
Cabinet Secretary M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan told this to reporters after the meeting held at Bangladesh Secretariat with the prime minister in the chair.
Only 19 out of total 37 decisions taken in 10 cabinet meetings have been implemented between January 1 and March 31 this year, the report said.
According to the report, the cabinet enacted two laws in parliament, formulated two policies and ratified and signed six Memorandum of Understanding and agreements during the period, the cabinet secretary said.
The meeting also formed a committee headed by its secretary Bhuiyan and tasked it to formulate policies to increase the manpower.
