4 die in Rangpur road crash

Four people were killed and 25 injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch on Dhaka-Rangpur highway in Pirganj upazila of Rangpur early today.
The deceased were identified as Osman, Manik, Islam and Momen, reports our Rangpur correspondent quoting MM Mainul Islam, officer-in-charge of Pirganj Police Station.  
The OC said a Nilphamari-bound bus from Dhaka fell into a ditch in Angrar Bridge area as its driver lost control over steering around 5:30am, killing four of its passengers on the spot and injuring 25 others.   
Eight of the injured were whisked off to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) where conditions of four were stated to be critical while the rest are under going treatment at Pirganj Upazila Health Complex.
The bodies were sent to RMCH morgue for autopsy.
