4.2kg gold seized at Dhaka airport
Customs officials seized 36 gold bars weighing 4.2 kilogrammes from a flight of Flydubai Airlines at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital this morning.
The flight landed at the airport from Dubai around 9:00am, said Kamrul Hasan, assistant commissioner of customs.
Acting on tip-off, a team of custom officials conducted a drive in the flight after all the passengers got down from the aircraft.
Later, the team members found the 36 gold bars, worth around Tk 2 crore, from a toilet and under a seat, said the customs official.
No one was arrested in this connection.
