Staff Correspondent

Rapid Action Battalion yesterday recovered 35 hand bombs, five sharp weapons, about one kilogramme of gunpowder and a large amount of bomb-making materials, which were abandoned in Bihari-populated Geneva Camp in the capital's Mohammadpur.
The recovery came a day after Rab-2 seized 96 crude bombs and a huge amount of bomb-making materials from the same area and arrested two youths.
None was arrested in yesterday's drive, said Rab Media Wing Director Habibur Rahman. After Friday's recovery, the elite force decided to raid the camp again yesterday morning, he said.
“We suspect that miscreants might have hidden the bombs and other objects there to carry out subversive acts during the ongoing political violence,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rab recovered 14 petrol bombs abandoned in Agargaon water tank area in the afternoon, four hours after the raid in Geneva Camp, said Rab official Raihan Uddin.
