Three workers were killed and two injured in a boiler explosion at a rice mill in Haluaghat upazila of Mymensingh this morning.  

The deceased are Sultan Ali, 40, Alam Miah, 42, and Hazrat Ali, 40, reports our Mymensingh correspondent.

Jakiur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Haluaghat Police Station, said the boiler of Shahil-Apu Rice Mill exploded with a big bang around 6:00am, leaving its five workers critically injured.

The workers were whisked off to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) where the three succumbed to their injuries around 7:00am.

The two injured workers -- Rahmat, 40, and Alam, 42, -- are undergoing treatment at the MMCH.
