3 injured as train hits car in city
At least three people were injured as a train hit a private car at Malibagh rail crossing in the capital this afternoon.
Details on the victims, presumably two members of a family and a driver of the car, could not be accessed immediately.
The private car was hit by the Kamalapur-bound Chattala Express from Chittagong around 5:30pm while the driver of the car drove onto the rail track before the signal bar was put in place, Imam Arefin, sub-inspector of Dhaka Railway Police Station, told The Daily Star.
The car was seen being pulled by the train more than 100 metres from the spot of the impact, he added.
A woman and a kid however managed to get down from the car safely, the police official said.
