Dinesh doesn't feel bad
Pti, London
On a day when a horrendous leg before decision given against Sourav Ganguly was a topic of debate, Dinesh Karthick did well to clear all doubts regarding his own caught behind dismissal that saw him missing a deserving hundred by just nine runs.Karthick made a sparkling 91 before being out and many believed that he too was a victim of a dubious decision by umpire Ian Howell on the first day of the third and final Test at the Oval. "I was definitely disappointed the way I got out. There was a small nick, no doubt about that," said Karthick who was dismissed caught at the wicket off Ryan Sidebottom. Just later in the day, Ganguly received a rank bad decision when he was ruled out leg before despite getting a thick inside edge. That is why Karthik's disclosure comes as a welcome surprise to all those who believed that he too may have been 'done in' by the umpire's dreaded finger. Having scored a half-century in each of the previous six Tests that he has played as opener, Karthick did a brilliant job at the top of the order and was a satisfied man at the end of the day. "We have got off to a very good start. We are happy with the way we have batted," he said before looking ahead to the second day's play."
