Survey starts to identify high-rises risky for aviation

Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) has started surveying high-rise structures in the capital to identify if they pose any risk to aviational movement. The survey is supposed to be completed this month and Rajuk would take action against the building authorities that violated height restrictions set by the civil aviation authorities, said sources. Meanwhile, Rajuk Chairman KMA Harun yesterday told a private television channel that a Rajuk proposal for acquiring Rangs Bhaban would be sent to Planning Commission next week. Rajuk would take action accordingly upon receiving the commission's decision. "There are some [other] structures near the airports built ignoring the restriction [of height] set by the civil aviation authorities and we are conducting a survey to identify those. We will go for action after the survey is completed," he added.
