An evening of Rabindra Sangeet by Bishwabeena


Bishwabeena, an organisation dedicated to practice and performance of Tagore songs, organised a musical soiree celebrating the monsoon, titled Jaye Din, Srabon-din Jaye, on the evening of August 4. The programme was dedicated to the memory of noted Tagore exponent Wahidul Haque and was held at Shawkat Osman Memorial auditorium, Central Public Library.

The programme started with a group rendition of Esho esho ogo shyamchhayaghono din. Over 20 songs performed throughout the evening portrayed the different moods that take over during the season of rain. The songs included Jhorojhoro jhorichhe baridhara, Sraboner dharar moto poruk jhorey, Esho nipobon-e chhayabithitoley, Mon-o mor megher shongi, Ogo Shaotali meye and more.

Khondokar Khairuzzaman Quayyum was in charge of music direction.
