Tagore's death anniversary observed

To observe Rabindranath Tagore's 66th death anniversary, cultural organisation Sangbrita arranged a recitation programme titled Shey Ek Banshiwala at Shawkat Osman Auditorium, Public Library on August 5. The programme featured recitation of Tagore poetry. The event started with a group recitation of Antar momo bikoshito karo, followed by solo recitations of Koto ajanarey janailey tumi and Manoshi performed by Arif Ahmed and Ahmed Rahat respectively. Mahidul Islam, director of the organisation, rendered Ami, Banshi, Paye chalar path and Parichay. Shamsuzzaman Babu, Juthika Biswas, Kazi Rajesh and Jalal Uddin recited Atmasamarpan, Udbodhan, Ekti Din and Nirjharer swapnobhango respectively. A duet recitation of Hathhath dekha by Shafiqul Islam and Juthika Biswas followed. The evening wrapped up with Rupnaraner kuley recited by Mahidul Islam after a group recitation of Tran.
