Khaleda comes out of home after a month

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia yesterday came out of her cantonment residence after a month to attend a milad on the 23rd death anniversary of former navy chief Rear Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan at Dhanmondi in the capital.Khaleda reached the residence of Mahbub Ali Khan, father-in-law of her detained son Tarique Rahman, at Road no 5 at about 7:10pm amidst tight security. Hundreds of people thronged the residence to have a glimpse of the BNP chairperson but riot police cleared the way. Journalists from print and electronic media also rushed to the spot to have comments from the former prime minister on current political developments. They were not allowed to meet her. On July 5, Khaleda came out of her house to offer special prayer at the grave of president Ziaur Rahman. BNP senior leaders RA Gani, Brig Gen (retd) Hannan Shah, Selima Rahman and Major (retd) Akhtaruzzaman were, among others, present at late Khan's residence.
