No foreigners in Senior Div football

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has decided not to allow any foreign players in the Senior Division Football League.The BFF executive committee took the decision in it's meeting yesterday. "But a local player who played less than three games in the just concluded B. League would be eligible to play the senior league," said BFF general secretary Anwarul Haque Helal after the meeting. He also informed that within a short time they will meet with the thirteen club officials to fix the schedule of the single league competition. Arambagh Krira Sangha is the lone B. League team who will participate in the competition. The BFF also has short-listed five booters for the best player of the inaugural B. League award and the final name will be announced tonight at a prize distribution ceremony at the NSC Tower Auditorium. The players are Wali Faisal, Kazi Nazrul Islam, Zahid Hossain Emily (Dhaka Abahani), Zahid Hasan (Dhaka Mohammedan) and Mohammad Robin (Farashganj. The best player will receive Tk 25,000 while Brothers Nigerian recruit Junior will also get the same money as the highest scorer in the league with 16 goals to his credit. National Sports Council (NSC) chairman and Army Chief General Moeen U Ahmed will be the chief guest at the function and will distribute the prizes and trophies. Abahani became champions while their old foes Mohammedan finished runners-up in the professional league. Meanwhile, Helal also informed that they already donated the saved amount of Tk 5 lakhs from the prize distribution ceremony to the Chef Adviser's relief fund.
