Rab man hurt in gunfight with criminals
Three arrested, arms recovered in Pabna


A Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) man received bullet wound as criminals opened fire on the team during a drive in Paksey of Ishwardi upazilla yesterday.

Rab recovered arms and ammunition from the spot and arrested three alleged arms traders.

Rab said, a team of Rab-1 form Dhaka came to Baghal Thakurpara village at about 10.45 am in disguise of arms buyer. The alleged criminals showed them some arms but when Rab men showed money the armed criminals trued to snatch the money. The criminals open fire and Rab returned the fire in defense.

ASP Md. Abul Hossain of RAB-1 received bullet injury during the gunfight. He was admitted to Pabna General Hospital but later taken to Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in critical condition.

Rab recovered a pistol, one shooter gun, five rounds of bullets and four magazines of pistol from the spot. The arrested three are Md. Shahin, son of Shahadat of Adomdighi vilage in Bogra, Panna, son of Amod Ali and Hamid, son of Dalbar of Tikori village in Pabna Sader upazilla.
