Suspected extortionist arrested

Lawyers yesterday caught a suspected extortionist when he was demanding toll from a lawyer of the Supreme Court at his office at Court House Street in the old part of the city yesterday. The suspected extortionist, Mohammad Ohid, was handed over to Kotwali police and a case was filed. In the first information report (FIR), Advocate Ayat Ali Patwari said Ohid called him out of his office at noon and demanded toll. Sensing something fishy, junior colleagues of Ayat Ali and his clients caught Ohid, he added. Earlier, Ohid and his gang handed over a letter to his wife with the demand for money, Ayat Ali said in the FIR.
