In a statement, the jote leaders alleged that the activists of Anushilon Drama Group and Tirthok Drama Group were harassed when they were returning to their dormitories along with their female activists singing song in group.

Police also picked up some cultural activists and released them later, they added.

Sayem, an activist of Anushilon, said it is their tradition to help female activists return to their dormitories singing in groups.

When contacted, university Proctor Enamul Haque said some unruly students create chaos on the campus in the name of cultural activities.

So restriction has been enforced on the return of the cultural activists to their dormitories singing in groups owing to state of emergency.
