BTRC realises Tk 2cr fine from Bangla Phone

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) yesterday realised Tk 2 crore fine from Bangla Phone Ltd, a private land phone operator, as the company has failed to fulfill a licensing condition.According to sources, Bangla Phone, which got PSTN (public switched telephone network) license from BTRC to operate in Sylhet zone, failed to give connections to a selected number of customers within a stipulated time. The telecoms watchdog made it mandatory for a private land phone operator to give connections to a definite number of customers within a specific time.
