Ex-BNP MP GM Siraj sues Huda, Sigma for extortion


Former BNP lawmaker GM Siraj last night filed an extortion case against detained former communications minister Nazmul Huda and his wife Sigma Huda.

The case was filed with Dhanmondi Police Station. The complainant said BNP leader Nazmul Huda and his wife demanded two Maruti cars from him for weekly Khaborer Antorale's use, Officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi Police Station Monwar Hossain said quoting the case statement.

They intimidated him into providing a car worth Tk 3.95 lakh during February 23-28, 2003, the complainant alleged. Sigma Huda is the publisher of Khaborer Antorale.

GM Siraj, a former lawmaker from Bogra, lodged the case under section 385 and 386 of the Penal Code.
