GPA-5 Achievers Urged at Two Receptions
Work hard to free nation from curse of corruption


Speakers at two reception ceremonies held in Khagrachhari and Bandarban yesterday urged the GPA-5 achievers of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination to work hard to build up a corruption-free Bangladesh.

Our Khagrachhari Correspondent reports: Dainik Prothom Alo, a leading Bangla daily, yesterday accorded reception to the SSC talents at the Tribal Cultural Institute (TCI) in hill town.

Khagrachhari Government High School headmistress Srila Talukder presided while Khagrachhari Government College principal Bhodi Sattya Dewan was present as chief guest.

Terming the meritorious students as future of the country, the speakers said they would make the country corruption-free by guiding it properly. They also urged them to make the society acid violence-free, monga and drought free and free from all kinds of natural calamities. Prathom Alo will help them in their task, they said.

Among others, educationist Ananta Bihari Kisha, Natunkuri High School headmaster Kazi Mazeduzzaman, Guimara High School headmaster Brazanath Roaza, sub-editor of Prothom Alo Asif Rashid and Khgarachhari Prothom Alo correspondent Azim-Ul-Haque addressed.

About 21 GPA-5 achievers receives crests and certificates at the function.

Our Bandarban Correspondent reports: As many as, 19 brilliant students of the hill district were accorded reception at a function held at Bandarban Press Club yesterday.

Crests and certificates were distributed to the SSC talents. Abu Taher, Assistant Professor of Bandarban Government College was in the chair.

Bandarban Hill District Council chairman Prof Than Jama Lushai distributed crests and certificates as chief guest.

While addressing, the chief guest advised the students to acquire the knowledge on modern IT. Because, he said, it is essential not for jobs only but for their day-to-day activities too. He further said the caretaker government has waged a war against corruption. He urged the brilliant students to help administration in wiping out corruption from the society.

Among others, Sumanta Aslam, Acting Editor of Alpin, a weekly special magazine of Dainik Prothom Alo, Hossain Ahmed, Headmaster of Bandarban Government High School and Zohora Begum, commissioner of Bandarban municipality addressed.

Teachers, guardians, students and civil society members were present.
