Workshop on gender, sexuality begins in city
The first International Workshop on Gender and Sexuality, organised by James P Grant School of Public Health, Brac University, began at Brac Centre in the city yesterday, says a press release.

Academics, human rights activists and representatives from NGO organisations, lawyers, filmmakers and early career researchers from India, Kenya, Pakistan, Turkey, the USA, and the UK and Bangladesh are participating in the workshop.

The presentations cover a range of issues from theoretical explorations on sexuality, research experiences of sexuality in diverse contexts, violations of rights of groups/communities to ethical aspects of conducting research, and programme interventions/ experiences of working in this arena. The workshop will highlight the relations between sexuality, development and human rights, the release added.
