I always try to convey my thanks and gratitude, whenever I see a piece of timely and useful commentary or editorial in The Daily Star. Because of recent shocking events, I failed to gather enough calm to write to you earlier about your commentary of 17 July, regarding Sk. Hasina's arrest.Thank you, it is a good piece of exercise in journalism. Respectfully, I disagree with you, Sir, there shall be no command politics in Bangladesh. This is 2007, Bangladeshis shall not accept anything by command. By arresting Hasina, without any court warrant, and by placing her case under Special Powers Act, the government has already proved that they do not stand on any moral ground. By arresting her the government has made her greater than she deserves to be! They have made her the unchallengeable leader of Bangladesh, just as the Pakistan government did to her father in the 60s.Mujib was never known to be a charismatic leader before the Agratala conspiracy case, you know it and we know it.
