Gomez extends Stuttgart contract

German international striker Mario Gomez declined a possible move to Italian giants Juventus on Mondya and extended his contract with German champions VfB Stuttgart till 2012. The 22-year-old's 14 goals in 25 matches last term were a major factor in propelling Stuttgart to the Bundesliga crown and made him a much sought after player in the close season. However the three-times capped striker - whose father is Spanish - opted to extend his present contract by another year.
