Mustafa Monwar honoured by Geetanjali Lalitkala Academy
Geetanjali Lalitkala Academy recently honoured veteran artiste Mustafa Monwar with the "Geetanjali Shommanona Podok '07". The award-giving ceremony was a part of Geetanjoli's 3rd anniversary celebration, says a press release.Benazir Ahmed, former president of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industries, attended the programme as the chief guest. The event was presided over by M.A. Awwal, general secretary of Uttara Lekhak Shilpi Club. For the last few years, Geetanjali Lalitkala Academy has been honouring renowned personalities who have made immense contribution of the cultural arena of Bangladesh with the yearly award. Eminent filmmaker Soovas Dutt received the award in 2004 and Mahfuzur Rahman, chairman of ATN Bangla received the award in 2005.
