BSF, BDR trade gunfire


Indian Border Security Force (BSF) and Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) traded heavy gunfire on Kakdanga border at Kalaroa upazila of the district yesterday.

The BSF of Tarali Camp at Swarupnagar under North 24 Parganas district in West Bengal fired four bullets targeting the BDR of Kakdanga Camp at about 3:00am forcing the BDR to retaliate with 40 bullets.

However no casualty was reported.

When contacted, Major Kamrul Hasan of 41 rifles battalion confirmed the incident saying that BSF men fired 4 unprovoked shots targeting the BDR men who retaliated the attack.
