UZ education staff held while taking bribe

Members of Rab arrested an office assistant of the upazila education office while taking bribe from a retired teacher at Digholia upazila here yesterday, says a Rab press release. The arrestee was identified as Nuruzzaman Sheikh, 39. Rapid Action Battalion (Rab)-6 caught Nuruzzaman red handed while he was receiving Tk 2,000 from retired headmaster Solaiman Shaikh of Ambarhia Primary School. Nuruzzaman demanded the money as bribe when Solaiman went to the upazila education office to withdraw his pension money. Meanwhile, the Rab arrested a drug peddler at Basupara in the Khulna city yesterday. The arrestee was identified as Mohammad Ali, 40. Rab recovered ten bottles of phensidyl and a vespa motorcycle from his house.
