A correspondent in Comilla reports: Mustafizur Rahman, 36, promotion officer of Drug International Limited in Jhenidah, died on the spot when a Dhaka-bound bus from Noakhali knocked him down while he was crossing Laksam-Noakhali highway at Laksam in the district at about 7:00am yesterday.

The body was sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

The driver and the helper managed to escape with the bus.

Our RU Correspondent adds: A man was killed and two policemen were injured in separate road accidents at Tanor and Godagari in Rajshahi yesterday.

Sources said Zera Ali, 45, of village Amtali at Godagari, died on the spot when he was run over by a Rajshahi-bound bus while crossing Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj highway at around 12:30 pm.

The driver of the bus managed to escape with his bus.

Meanwhile, Faium Ahmed, a sub inspector and Saiful Islam, a police constable of Tanor Police Station, were injured when a motorbike knocked them down in Mundumala Bazar area of Tanor at around 5:00pm.

They were rushed to Tanor Health Complex, sources said.
