Says it's full of errors

Detained Awami League President Sheikh Hasina said the notice issued upon her to submit wealth statement is full of mistakes, but her claim was dismissed by the Anti-corruption Commission (ACC). According to sources, Hasina in her handwritten letter to the ACC said the notice is only meant for males as the notice issued to her states, "You are directed to submit the statement of wealth standing in the name of self, your wife and dependants." She returned the notice without accepting it Wednesday. In the letter, Hasina said, "I was the prime minister of the country. Does the ACC not know if I am male or female? I have been asked to submit wealth statement of my wife, but who will be my wife? It could have been considered if the words husband/wife were put in place of wife." She, however, received the notice through the jail authorities yesterday around 5:30pm, according to an official source. "The commission received a 13-line letter on July 18 from former honourable prime minister Sheikh Hasina through the jail authorities. In the letter, she stated that the (ACC) notice is full of mistakes," ACC Secretary Mokhlesur Rahman said at the regular briefing. About the ACC position on Hasina's claim, he said, "Actually, after scrutiny of the notice by the commission, it was found that the notice has been issued in accordance with the law, the notice is correct and there is no mistake anywhere." The ACC secretary said if the notice recipient is male, he will have to provide details of his wife's wealth and in case of female, she would have to give wealth information of her husband. "The commission hopes she (Hasina) will submit her wealth statement in due time," he added. Asked if the week's time would start from Wednesday he said her time would be counted from yesterday (Wednesday). "She will have seven working days for submitting her wealth statement. If asked, she will get another seven working days to comply with the (ACC) directive. It is the normal process," he said. On Hasina's claim, ACC Deputy Director Mobara Khanam, who signed the notice, said, "The same notice has been issued to everybody else... There is not a single wrong word in that. What she said is her opinion. There was no breach of law."
