Ushering in the monsoon with song and dance

Cultural organisation Ruposhi Bangla arranged a programme to celebrate the season of Borsha at the Saifur Rahman Auditorium in Sylhet recently. The programme began with a group dance, accompanied with a song, Dhirey dhirey brishti porey. Artistes then rendered a familiar Tagore song Pagla hawar badol diney. The programme advanced with recitation of Tagore's Sonar Tori. Throughout the evening songs, dances and recitation kept the audience engrossed. Songs rendered at the event, like Elo borsha je shohosha and Sraboner meghgulo jaro holo akashey, captured the changes in nature and the state of mind in monsoon. Dancers performing to the tune of Tu lal paharir deshey ja and recitations of Ek gaye and Meghey dhaka shoshi enhanced the ambiance. Artistes singing at the programme included Anashua Das Trisha, Anamika Pantho Das, Shorna Dey, Sudipta Biswas, Shayonti Dey, Tazkia Sultana, Farhana Raiyan Pinki, Priyanka Barua, Sajib Roy, Nabila Islam Niha, Muhibur Rahman Tamim and others. Poems were recited by Chowdhury Fahmida Jannat, Fayeza Mehjabin, Tazkia Sultana and Syeda Prioti Sultan. Dancers Antara Das, Prosenjit Dey, Shaoli Dhar, Hindol Kar Purokayostho, Tuli Deb Paula and Dipika Talukder Tuli performed at the programme.
