Arnab Murder
8 witnesses examined


One more prosecution witness (PW) of the sensational Arnab murder case in Kaliganj upazila gave his statement before a court here yesterday.

Judge Ashish Ranjan Das of the District and Sessions Judge court recorded the statement and fixed August 6 the next date of hearing.

The witness is ANM Ahmed Ali, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Barisal.

Earlier, the court recorded statements of seven PWs on June 26 and July 8 respectively. They are Samir Kumar Das, Murari Mohon Sarkar and Dr. Abul Hossain, Sheikh Mohammad Ali, Saidur Rahman Sardar, Fazlur Rahman and Nur Mohammad, a classmate of slain Arnab.

With the latest one, a total of eight witnesses were examined by the court.

Trial of the murder case began at a court here with deposition of complainant Nishan Chandra Das on June 11 after six years and nine months of the gruesome murder.

Eight-year-old Arnab was killed on June 18, 2000.
