Robbery in two Keraniganj jewellery shops

Robbers looted gold ornaments and cash worth Tk 17 lakh from two jewellery shops at Nasiruddin Super Market in South Keraniganj early yesterday.Sources said the robbers numbering 16/17 stormed into the market and tied the hands and legs of its night guard Wahab and broke open the shutters of two shops, Shuvo Jewelers and Chandana Jewelers on first floor of the market. They looted 40 tolas of gold and Tk 60,000 in cash from Chandana Jewelers and 30 tolas of gold and Tk 70,000 in cash from Shuvo Jewelers at about 2:00am. Police picked up Wahab to police station for interrogation yesterday.
