Citycell Mahakal Theatre Festival '07
"Bou Boshanti" to be staged today

As part of the ongoing Citycell Mahakal Theatre Festival '07, arranged by Mahakal Natyasampradaya, Udichi (theatre branch) will stage Bou Boshanti today at the Experimental Theatre Stage.

Set in a village in a remote area during the Liberation War, Ratan Siddiqui's play Bou Boshanti features the ravaging impact of the war. Like many plays on Liberation War, Bou Boshanti does not have any combat scene. Rather, war appears in the play through news aired from Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra and dialogues of the characters. Ratan's play also highlights the changes in the structure of rural life, specifically in the social class system, turned upside down by the war.

Bou Boshanti is directed by Azad Abul Kalam. M. Shaiful Islam is the set and light designer of the play.

As Tuesday is the weekly holiday of the staff of National Theatre Stage, no play will be staged tomorrow at the festival.
