N’ganj town plunges into darkness

Severe power crisis engulfed two-thirds of Narayanganj town as control circuit of Shitalakkhya grid was burnt at yesterday afternoon. As a result, electricity supply at Chamara, Jamtola, Missionpara, Khanpur, College Road, Golachipa, Chanmari, Kutubpur and Enayepur remained suspended. Desa authorities said through this grid 30 mega-watt electricity is supplied to the town every day. Though repair work started, no progress was made as of filing the report at 8:15 of last night.
