Iran coach hits out at ban
Afp, Kuala Lampur
Outraged Iran coach Amir Ghalenoei on Saturday lashed out at his touchline ban for the crunch Group C match with China. Ghalenoei, red-carded for throwing a water bottle during the 2-1 win against Uzbekistan on Wednesday, said he was "amazed" to be barred when Qatar's coach had a ban rescinded. "I'm amazed the Qatar coach was forgiven and I've been suspended," said the fiery Ghalenoei ahead of Sunday's match. Qatar's Dzemaludin Musovic was sent to the stands during their 1-1 draw with Japan for complaining about a straight red card shown to striker Hussain Yaser. But he later appealed and was allowed to take his place in the dug-out for Qatar's draw with Vietnam on Thursday. "This is just amazing. It was an unfair action by the referee. I threw a bottle at one of my players and I didn't deserve to be sent off but I left the pitch without complaining," Ghalenoei said. "I'm amazed they're suspending me for this game." The triple champions trail China on goal difference in Group C with the team finishing top avoiding a punishing travel schedule in the knock-out stages.
