11000 CDs worth Tk 6 lakh seized

Police yesterday seized 11,000 Indian Compact Discs (CD) worth about Tk 6 lakh and 20 litres of wine and 20 bottles of phensidyl in separate incidents at Benapole and arrested three smugglers in this connection.Benapole Police said acting on a tip-off, they raided a private car at Dholda Bazar of Sharsha and arrested one Mashiar Rahman Babu with 11,000 CDs worth Tk 6 lakh. In another incident, the law enforcers raided the village of Bhaberbar and arrested two smugglers, Faruk and Babul, with 20 litres of wine and 20 bottles of phensidyl.
