Film screening at Australian High Commission highlighting aborigines

The Australian High Commission in Dhaka marked NAIDOC (National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Week with a celebration of Aboriginal culture by hosting a movie night on July 11 to showcase indigenous short films. The event was held at the recreation centre of the High Commission.

NAIDOC Week is an annual Australia-wide event, and is a way of celebrating and promoting a greater understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their culture.

Three short films, My Brother Vinnie, Footy The La Perouse Way and Crocodile Dreaming, were screened, all from the Message Sticks Indigenous Film Festival which featured some of Australia's best indigenous screenwriters, directors and actors.
