Indoor politics?

Recently, in Bangladesh, the phrase 'indoor-politics' has come in vogue after many years of hibernation. What is indoor-politics by the way? There is no 'in or outdoor' as far as politics is concerned. The word politics is whatever it means, unless it implies something subservient to the present government's wishes. Indoor-politics means here some sort of domesticated version of politics.

There is no room for such docility in politics!

Our intellectuals, politicians, and media people are so forgetful that they seem incapable of tracing the origin of this phrase.
