Journo held for taking bribe

Rapid Action Battalion arrested a journalist on charges of taking bribe at Senhati Union Parishad Office under Digholia upazila in the district yesterday.He was identified as Kazi Tarik Ahmed, editor of Gono Michil, a fortnightly published from Khulna city. Tarik demanded the bribe for publishing a rejoinder to a story published in the last issue of the fortnightly that depicted corruption of the UP chairman. Members of Rab-6 led by Captain Motiul Islam arrested him while receiving Tk 2000 from chairman of Senhati Union Parishad Gazi Abdul Halim, said a press release. He was handed over to Digholia Police Station.
