Obituary


Professor Khogesh Kiron Talukdar, central committee member of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) and one of the organisers of the liberation war, passed away at Mymensingh Medical College yesterday at the age of 62.

He was cremated at his village home at Ranagaon in Netrokona.

Prof Khogesh, also an adviser to Bangladesh Adivashi Union, took part in all the student and democratic movements, including mass upsurge of '69, the liberation war and the movement against the autocratic rule in 1990.

He also authored two books titled 'Bangladesher Lokayoto Shilpakala' and 'Nibaron Pondit', both published by Bangla Academy.

CPB President Manjurul Ahsan Khan and General Secretary Mujahidul Islam Selim, Bangladesh Adivashi Union President Rebecca Soren and General Secretary Mongthenhla Rakhain and Udichi Shilpa Goshthi expressed deep shock at the death of Prof Khogesh.
