Touchstone statue worth Tk 5 crore recovered

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) yesterday recovered a touchstone statue worth about Tk 5 crore in Nirala Sabuj Palli area at Batiaghata in the district and arrested three people in this connection.The arrestees were identified as Jillal Shikder, 27, of Uttara in Dhaka, Khandaker Azadur Rahman, 42, of South Azimpur in Dhaka and Bahauddin alias Baharama of Nirala Sabuj Palli, said a press release issued by Rab-6 yesterday afternoon. Rab members in a raid found the statue concealed in a large wooden box in the house of one Bahauddin, the press release said. The arrestees and the statue were handed over to Batiaghata police station.
